Actor Will Smith will be the frontrunner to star in Quentin Tarantino’s “Django Unchained,” The film is about a former slave in the Old South who teams up with a German bounty hunter to search for his wife. Smith would play the role of the Django, the freed slave. Smith hasn’t appeared in any movies since 2008’s “Seven Pounds” and “Hancock.” He is currently filming the science fiction sequel “Men in Black III” with Tommy Lee Jones and Josh Brolin. Sources said Tarantino likes Smith to star in “Django Unchained,” but no official offer has been made at this time. Actors Samuel L. Jackson and Christoph Waltz are also being considered for other key roles in the film. Tarantino wrote the script with Waltz in mind to play the German bounty hunter. And Jackson would play the villain’s house slave, who is an expert manipulator and will face off with Django. The screenplay will be controversial due to themes of racism and a very liberal use of the N-word. The film will be distributed domestically by The Weinstein Co. However, also reported Tarantino will be meeting with reps from Universal, Sony, Paramount, Warner Brothers and a few other film distributors for international distribution.
Don’t do it Will. You don’t need to be playing a slave. I know you rarely do anything that is rated more than PG-13. This is a typical Blaxploitation movie; where the audiences will watch the black hero come into his own, shooting white bad guys, and angrily paying back years of horror in a haze of stereotypes. I know there are people longing for the good old days when we used to watch overjoyed Jim Brown or Foxy Brown kicking ass in the blaxploitation era. What is next, turn the Chappelle Show skit “Haters” into a movie? I will not be seeing Will Smith spewing Tarantino’s dialogue (N-word, N-word, and N-word). This movie is for N-words.

The new Zune browser is surprisingly good, but not as good as the iPod’s. It works well, but isn’t as fast as Safari, and has a clunkier interface. If you occasionally plan on using the web browser that’s not an issue, but if you’re planning to browse the web alot from your PMP then the iPod’s larger screen and better browser may be important.
